CONGRATULATIONS!!!!You're expecting. You're excited. You're exhausted. You're overwhelmed. That's where I come in.Does the thought of being ignored and over-stimulated in big-box baby stores do nothing for you? Do you want more guidance and options than in an "edited" baby boutique? I give you education without a retail agenda. I am completely dedicated to informing you about your options and helping to make sure you are prepared in every way possible once the baby arrives home. Confused about strollers and car seats? Concerned about safely wearing your baby? I help you choose what works for you and your new family. I believe in making this process as painless as possible and catering to YOU. Do you want to register for the first six months? Great. Do you want to over-register and get things for the first couple years? Fantastic. It's your decision. The choices are endless in the world of baby gear. I take the guesswork out for you and separate the garbage from the great. I know these products inside and out. Having dealt with the companies for years, I know something even more important: reputation regarding quality and customer service. I am FULLY committed to helping you pick practical, inventive, well-made, functional and SAFE products for your little one.
TheBabyGuyNYC was founded in 2008. As a product demonstrator/personal shopper at Buy Buy Baby in Manhattan for over 4 years, I helped thousands of parents navigate the maze of baby gear and decide what products they REALLY needed to help them ease the transition into parenthood. I left Buy Buy Baby in 2009 and joined the team at RealBirth. For nearly a year I worked alongside some of the top Doulas and Lactation Consultants in NYC. As the only male baby planner in the world, I have been featured in Time Out New York, The NY Daily News, The Wall Street Journal, The LA Times, and the WE Television series "Platinum Babies." I am currently the Gear Guy for StrollerTraffic.com and in March of 2010 was named "Best Baby Gear Guru" by New York Magazine. Dedicated to calming, educating and entertaining expectant parents, I take the chaos and confusion out of the registry process with informed guidance mixed with a bit of Southern charm.
As you prepare for your new family, the preparation can be overwhelming and the product choices seem endless. I am here to help guide you through the wizardry of this bewildering maze of products, so that you can keep your focus on your family. REGISTRY ASSISTANCE/COMPLETIONGlass or plastic bottles? Do I need a jogging stroller? Which car seat is the easiest to use on my stroller? What is "My Brest Friend?" Which baby carrier works best for me?Whether you want to set up one registry or multiples, I will accompany you to the stores of your choice in New York City and help you set up your baby registry, walk you through the products, and give you instruction and demonstration on how to assemble and use them. No pressure from sales associates or up-sells. I know gear like no one else, and am here to help you choose products that meet your family’s needs.If you have no desire at all to step foot in a store, I can also walk you through the registry process in the comfort of your own home! We will begin the registry together and I will finish it at the store myself.THE PERFECT BABY SHOWER GIFTConfused about what to buy a friend or friends that are expecting? I make a great gift. Purchase your friends a session with me to set up their registry!GROUP SHOPSDo you have friends due around your time? I am available to guide small groups and help you all live the dream.IN-HOME SETUP AND INSTRUCTIONStill confused about how to use your stroller? Are you still not sure how to use your baby carrier of choice? I will come over and give you in-home lessons on how to use everything from your car seat to your monitor.NURSERY DECOR/ORGANIZATION Are you bleary-eyed from looking at cribs? Do you need help deciding on a dressing table that is practical and aesthetically pleasing? We can go furniture shopping. Once it is all chosen, I will come over and assemble everything that your new addition needs to ensure they have a calm and SAFE sanctuary to rest and play.DOULAS/BABY NURSESIf you are interested in assistance finding either, I have several I can contact for an interview. The best way to find these two wonderful additions is through references, and I have plenty of them.CAR SEAT INSTALLATIONI know several individuals certified in car seat installation who can take the stress out of installing the seat yourself, should you need help.
